2020 Race Weekend Recap
Pennzoil welcomed employees, partners and customers from around the Americas to experience the third annual Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Over 700 guests arrived to take part in the ultimate experience for the weekend. They represented 70+ different customers and business units across a variety of industries.
Pennzoil also brought together an impressive group of celebrities and influencers to bring the brand to life on and off the track inside the Pennzoil Proving Grounds. The media was buzzing all weekend to see live drifting demonstrations, Q&A's with NASCAR drivers, multiple showcars, and capture fans getting autographs from #22 Pennzoil Mustang driver, Joey Logano. The weekend was topped off with Joey’s first points-paying win of the season, securing a slot in 2020’s playoffs and putting the Pennzoil Ford Mustang in Victory Lane at the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.
While everywhere around the track was unmistakably Pennzoil, so was the competition on the track. Custom, striking paint-outs were developed over the last year to be featured on the #22 Ford Mustang of Joey Logano and the #12 of Ryan Blaney.
Pennzoil had the primary paint-out for the #22 and a co-primary position on the #12. The driver's fire suits matched, and they could be seen in Pennzoil yellow on broadcast TV interviews during driver introductions and during post-race coverage.

A majority of the guests came together Saturday evening at the MGM Grand for a welcome reception featuring remarks from Shell-Pennzoil leadership including Carlos Maurer, Patty Lanning and Jim McCormick. They walked guests through the unique benefits of being partners with Team Penske, who were excited to learn more about what it takes to compete at the highest level. The evening also featured a Q&A with the eventual winner of the race, driver Joey Logano.
70+ different customer groups were engaged throughout the Pennzoil 400. A selection of this group of customers and partners are featured below.
The group started early with an exciting day of activities ahead of them. The title sponsorship of the race offered up a host of unique hospitality and engagement opportunities for Pennzoil, and every one of them was taken full advantage of. We all traveled to Las Vegas Motor Speedway together in a professional 12-bus caravan with access right on the infield of the track behind the famous Neon Garage. Guests were then escorted to a unique VIP hospitality area where they could experience the race, including: the Luxury Suites, Media Center Hospitality and Infield Hospitality.
185 top-performing customers enjoyed perfect start/finish line views and the ultimate VIP experience in the speedway suites. Joey Logano stopped by before the race to answer a few more detailed questions from guests.
For the first time ever, we invited 250 guests to come together inside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Media Center for a unique hospitality experience. Ryan Blaney stopped by to share his preparation for the race and sign autographs.
Besides the spread of different hospitality experiences, this event offered Pennzoil another level of VIP access. The most important elements of the race were held by Pennzoil partners or customers - bringing them closer than ever to the action.
Pennzoil also did their part to give back, by hosting a very special group inside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Media Center, Colton, CA Police Officer and Founder of Fuel for Success, Todd Smith, along with 75 students who are excelling in the STEM-based program. Their group was treated to an unforgettable VIP experience on race day! Officer Todd Smith and Fuel For Success were honored during Driver Introductions at the Pennzoil 400 for his exceptional leadership. The segment was covered in a local STEM academy’s podcast and starts at the 8 minute mark.

"Wanted to drop a note to once again say thanks. The hospitality presented to [us] was over the top. The hotel accommodation were incredible. The cocktail party with Pennzoil and Joey Logano was an awesome experience. That leads us to the race experience. The race experience was almost head spinning. Every single person we met with the Shell/Pennzoil race experience was so nice. The event was so well organized, from our stand point anyway. The execution was incredible.
We were left with such an impression of the integrity of everyone we came across. We respect and appreciate doing business with Perkins. Experiencing something like this kind of left us feeling that there is a reason Perkins does so well with Shell. What an incredible organization they have.
