Las Vegas Motor Speedway | March 4-6, 2022

Pennzoil welcomed employees, partners and customers from around the Americas to experience the fifth annual Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 300 guests arrived to take part in the ultimate experience for the weekend. They represented many different customers and business units across a variety of industries.


Customer Highlight


Pennzoil and Jiffy Lube on the strip

No matter where you went in Las Vegas, you couldn’t miss Pennzoil and Jiffy Lube. We designed custom video content to display all weekend on two of the most unique media spaces in the city. The first one, a 360-degree crystal clear globe in the center of Resorts World, ran two video clips every 5-10 minutes. The second placement was featured on a 30-story video board of Resorts World that could be seen clearly even as far as the airport.

Pennzoil on the Track

While everywhere around the track was unmistakably Pennzoil, so was the competition on the track. Custom, striking paint-outs were developed for the Next Gen car to be featured on the #22 Ford Mustang of Joey Logano and the #12 of Ryan Blaney.

Pennzoil had the primary paint-out for the #22 and a co-primary position on the #12. The driver's fire suits matched, and they could be seen in Pennzoil yellow on broadcast TV interviews during driver introductions and during post-race coverage.



Council for Responsible Sport Press Release

The Council for Responsible Sport has awarded a Silver certification to the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube. The speedway met a set of criteria for social and environmental responsibility planning and is the first NASCAR event to earn this distinction – joining the ranks of major sporting events around the world, including the Waste Management Phoenix Open PGA tournament, the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball Final Four, and the Major League Baseball All-Star game.

Customer Reception on the 66th floor of resorts world

A majority of the guests came together Saturday evening on the 66th floor of Resorts World for a unique welcome reception featuring remarks from Shell-Pennzoil leadership including Steve Reindl, John Sussman and Bree Sandlin. They walked guests through the unique benefits of being partners with Team Penske and SMI, who were excited to learn more about what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Guests also had a visit from Joey Logano, Chelsea DeNofa, John Hennessy and more.

Katy Perry

To continue the festivities, we celebrated Katy Perry’s ongoing residency at Resorts World with surprise tickets to her show immediately following the reception. Katy Perry’s lookalike announced the news.

Luxury Suites

Top-performing customers enjoyed perfect start/finish line views and the ultimate VIP experience in the speedway suites. Joey Logano stopped by before the race to answer a few more detailed questions from guests.

Infield Hospitality

We invited guests to come together inside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Media Center for a unique hospitality experience. Ryan Blaney stopped by to share his preparation for the race and sign autographs.

VIP Exclusive Access

Besides the spread of different hospitality experiences, this event offered Pennzoil another level of VIP access. The most important elements of the race were held by Pennzoil partners or customers - bringing them closer than ever to the action, like their ride in the pace car to start the race seen below.


Pennzoil Gift Boxes

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, guests received a selection of specialized Pennzoil gifts in the week leading up to the race. A few lucky fans on social media also got the chance to win a box from Joey Logano. This generated a lot of unique, organic comments and stories from fans connecting with Joey.

Pennzoil Virtual Proving Grounds

For the first time, we extended the Virtual Proving Grounds beyond an internal audience and allowed fans to access the custom content built for the virtual rendition of the Neon Garage. Fans got to enjoy a welcome message from Joey Logano, the reveal video of his Next Gen Pennzoil #22 Ford Mustang, and plenty of other content.

In another first for the Pennzoil brand, fans had access to claim 1/10,000 special edition NFTs celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Pennzoil 400. The NFTs were custom designed and minted for their exclusive launch through the Virtual Proving Grounds. The NFTs did not have a cost, but did require a brief market research survey and information opt-in to claim them.

Pennzoil Proving Grounds Onsite at LVMS

Once onsite, the real Proving Grounds picked up where the Virtual Proving Grounds left off. Pennzoil featured the first and only available Next Gen showcar at the display. This was the first time fans could see the Next Gen car up close wrapped in the striking Pennzoil primary livery. Fans also had the chance to claim a custom-designed T-shirt, have their photo taken with the Pennzoil 400 race trophy and learn more about the oil change process while at the race track.
