The massively successful Shell Synthetics Experience with Canadian Tire returned in 2023. The Q2 2023 Shell Synthetics Competition has produced growth for sales within Canadian Tire at a 28.3% increase vs. 2022 during the same time frame.
To match their exceptional work throughout the year, we hosted 3 dealers and their guests, 2 Canadian Tire executives, 1 Canadian Tire winner from their charity gala and 1 Shell executive and her guest for an exceptional experience in Italy as a thank you and celebration. The group enjoyed can’t-be-bought experiences throughout the week in Venice and Maranello that included a VIP look into Shell’s technical partnership with Scuderia Ferrari.

In the weeks leading up to the event, we sent out personalized, branded email communications to each guest congratulating them and sharing their individual travel details.
We welcomed guests in Venice with custom and personalized field guides to showcase the experience to each guest. The guide included a personalized welcome letter from Shell leadership, rich photography, insights to the week, safety considerations and much more. We produced this book as a special memento for each guest to have and remember the trip. The books were delivered to each guest upon their check-in, along with a gift from Scuderia Ferrari.

Part I - Venice
Part I - Venice
Our guests arrived Sunday throughout the day after their business class flights over from Canada. Our private drivers met the guests to help out with baggage and transfer them from the airport to the hotel. Once we arrived to the St. Regis Venice, the team was there to provide a VIP check-in process and welcome refreshments.
Your customers are special, so we planned special things for them to make them feel like the VIPs they are. Upon their arrival to Venice, a vintage bottle of champagne, local Italian snacks and Ferrari hats and keychains were waiting for them to start the week.
A local expert guided our first full day in Venice through the islands, bridges and canals. We got skip-the-line treatment into one of the most famous sites in Europe including St. Mark’s Square and Doge’s Palace. This was the first chance guests got to see and experience the city and served as a bit of an orientation for them. Venice is a very walkable, safe and approachable city.
After our time as a group, we had a private lunch together. Then, everyone enjoyed some free time in the afternoon.

Choosing the right restaurants in Venice is no easy task with a host of remarkable places. We selected Ristorante da Ivo for our second dinner - a homey place known for celebrity spotting during the Venice film festival. The walls are covered with the likes of Roger Federer, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and countless more celebrities with the head chef - who all of our guests got to see as well.

Our final full day in Venice took us to the famous Rialto Market, where the city’s best chefs come each morning to pick out the ingredients for the day. We did just the same, then cooked them over a guided lunch class. Chef Massimo taught us his secret recipe for pasta and many tips and tricks that the guests could take back home to their own kitchen.
It wasn’t all classroom time, however, as after we sat down and enjoyed lunch made from all the ingredients we had been working with!
Our final dinner in Venice was at Ristorante Guna - a more modern selection for the guests to taste the innovative side of the city.

The week in Italy treated our guests to all kinds of fresh, unique, flavorful dining. Just a few of the dishes can be seen below.

Part II - Ferrari

Part II of the experience had us taking a private coach from Venice to Maranello, which is about a 2.5 hour total journey through the beautiful country of Northern Italy. We arrived at the home of Ferrari to a welcome cocktail as the evening began.
A true highlight of the entire week was the private time in the Ferrari Museum. Not only did our group get after-hours access to the museum away from the public on Wednesday night, they also were treated to a 4-course plated dinner in Ferrari’s Victory Room. In this space, the Scuderia’s championship-winning cars and trophies are on display with highlight footage of some of the most epic moments in racing history shown in the background.

Ferrari’s Corso Pilota program is the driving enthusiast’s ultimate day out.
Our 12 drivers had private access to the Fiorano track, Ferrari’s own test track. The drivers were split into groups and assigned professional instructors to work with throughout the day. The guests noted how happy they were with how much they got to spend on track, both driving on their own and also learning from the instructors. The coaching extended to F1-style telemetry analysis where our drivers could compare their driving data to the professional driving data for maximum learning.
All 12 guests had a full day of driving.
Our second dinner with Ferrari was in the famed Ristorante Montana, a restaurant with a special place in Ferrari’s heart. It is a place where every F1 driver for Ferrari comes to cook and enjoy time with the chef. Coming to this place with the group made everyone really feel part of the team after their time on track.
The leading driving instructor was sat with our group and reviewed everyone’s driving from the day.
Our final day began with an exclusive tour of the Ferrari factory, something you can only see if you are a Ferrari client or if you are a partner of the F1 team. Photos were completely forbidden in this space, but if you are to ask each of the guests about their time behind-the-scenes then you might hear it was one of their favorite parts of the trip.
Our week’s experience concluded with a stop at the Ferrari store before guests took their private transfers to the airport to return home.

Our trip concluded with everyone’s departure from Maranello on Friday, November 3rd with privately arranged transfers to the airport, the city center and the train station from the hotel. Before leaving, we treated them with custom motorsports chocolates and thank you cards to complete their experience. Now that the guests have seen the home of Ferrari, what better way to celebrate the team than with tasty helmets from famous Ferrari F1 drivers?
